The riggers reflect the passion and energy of sport-fishing culture.
Description
Simplified set of outriggers with fewer parts, easier interaction, and a sleeker look.
Overview
Stealth Riggers began as an open-minded venture towards designing a better outrigger, later becoming a patented concept desired by many. Typical outriggers tend to be cumbersome, composed of many parts, and never adding style to the vessel.
The project began with concept development and block modeling. The most important aspect to establish within digital modeling is the geometry, given its installation on vessels of assorted sizes. We determined that the riggers could come in three kit sizes to accommodate vessels from 32’ to 90’.
In addition to simplifying existing rigger systems, an aggressive style was established to reflect the intensity of sport fishing. Carbon fiber and aluminum were selected as choice materials for reducing both weight and maintenance. Prototypes were built using infusion techniques common to the boat industry. The installed prototypes endured structural testing in various sea conditions.
The components are distinctively styled to compliment the shapely boats they occupy.
The system eliminates the large number of pulleys and wheels typically present in outriggers.
We ensured the riggers transitioned easily between stowed and out positions.
